In the summer of 2024, she lived in Vienna, Austria for seven weeks as part of a study abroad experience through Brigham Young University, where she deepened her musical knowledge, training and cultural appreciation. During this time, she studied piano with professors Antoinette Van Zabner, Markus Prause, and Jura Margulis, as well as András Kemenes of the Liszt Academy. Her time abroad also included travel and musical exploration throughout Central Europe, including visits to Salzburg, Hallstatt, Linz, Mauthausen, Bratislava, Budapest, Prague, Leipzig, and several cities in Italy, such as Venice, Florence, Siena, and Cinque Terre.
Suzannah has enjoyed teaching piano lessons since she was 14 years old, and continues to maintain a private music studio, introducing the next generation of young pianists to the joys of music-making. She has over a decade of teaching experience during which she has taught music students in many different settings: at Brigham Young University as a graduate instructor, privately in her own studio both in-person and online, and at Washington Elementary as a volunteer for the University of Utah Student Outreach Program. In addition to teaching privately, she currently holds faculty positions at the University of Utah Preparatory Division teaching piano lessons and group beginning piano classes, and at the Gifted Music School teaching Advanced Music Theory. She also accompanies ballet classes at both the University of Utah and Ballet West Academy.
Over the years, Suzannah has been an active member of MTNA, holding leadership positions in collegiate chapters and presenting at both state and national conferences. From 2021-2023, she held the position of Vice President of the University of Utah MTNA Collegiate Student Chapter, an organization that helps to improve and promote high quality teaching, research, and scholarship in music. She also held the positions of Vice President (2021-2022) and President (2022-2023) of the Society of 88 Keys, a student organization at the University of Utah that writes FAF Grants to provide funding for masterclasses, lectures, and other events that help to benefit and enrich the education of music students at the UofU, as well as the wider Salt Lake community. While at Brigham Young University, Suzannah held leadership positions in the BYU MTNA Collegiate Chapter as Treasurer (2023–2024) and Secretary (2024-2025).
Adjudicators have praised Suzannah on her “beautiful shimmering tone” (Stephen Beus, BYU), and her “brilliant dexterity; you make [the music] sound easy” (Ksenia Ilinykh, UVU, Gifted Music School). Suzannah started her journey on the piano when she was 3 years old, after her mother noticed her playing tunes by ear on the keyboard.
When she’s not at the piano, Suzannah enjoys reading, kayaking, and word games.
